The James Maloney Academy is an elite training program available to all Magpies players who are signed to our international age groups (U13s-U17s).
The Academy gives players access to representative level coaching, strength and conditioning programs + experts in areas like nutrition, leadership and wellbeing.
The program is overseen by Academy head coach Tony Clark, a Magpies Old Boy who has long been regarded as one of the Central Coast’s most revered coaches — boasting multiple first grade premierships, years in NRL junior pathways systems and time working alongside the likes of Wayne Bennett, Des Hasler and Anthony Seibold.
The program also receives extensive input from the man after whom the Academy is named, James Maloney – a former Magpies junior who, noticed by scouts during a game at Sohier Park, would eventually carve out a stellar career involving two NRL premierships, 14 Origins, three Tests and over 300 first class games.
During its inaugural season in 2024, the success of the Academy program was proved in a variety of ways, including that seven of our international Magpies teams played finals footy, with our U17s winning the premiership.
We also have five of those U17s players now selected with the Central Coast Roosters.
More details are available once you register with the mighty Magpies for 2025.
